Tyvek Suit!

This project involved creating a visually engaging Tyvek suit using 3D design principles and a chosen theme. The requirements are to have a fully-covered suit incorporating repitition, contrast, pattern, and linear elements.

Pictured to the left is the 3 themes I developed, along with related ideas. I also briefly described each piece, along with what would be successful if I continued to develop them.

Pictured below is my maquettes of Kitties/Big Kitties front and back. Options for a lot of bigger scale drawings.

These pictures are maquettes of “Art Supplies”. Lot of overlapping and colorful options.

Above is my maquettes of “pollinators”. Pictured in the middle is a colored version of the front. This was the maquettes I decided to continue on the life size tyvek suit.

Before commiting to the suit, I did samples of each alchol marker to see which would match each drawing the best. Later I ended up getting more colors to continue the entire suit.

Below are some progress photos of the top half coming along.

Finally, the finished piece!

I am pleasantly surprised how my suit turned out. I have all the requirements from covering the suit, using repetition and contrast, pattern, and a linear element. My drawings go around the suit and have many different scale changes and color changes. My suit is dynamic because it is asymentrical along with there being so much to look at without being overwhelming.
